Description
How We Evaluated This
In our Kerala Test Kitchen we put the Sujata Classic 4-Burner Glass Top Gas Stove (Manual Ignition) through demanding Indian cooking sessions. We ran simultaneous high-heat tadka, large pressure-cooker loads, deep-frying batches and simmering gravies across all four burners. We tested the Jumbo brass burner for rapid boiling, checked vessel stability on the heavy 15+ kg body, assessed the 8 mm toughened glass after oil and spice spills, and evaluated the SABAF valve flame control. Observations below come from that hands-on use.
8 mm Toughened Glass and Heavy-Duty Build
The Sujata Classic uses an 8 mm ultra-thick toughened glass top — noticeably thicker than the 6 mm glass common on many mid-range stoves. In our testing the surface felt rigid and cleaned well after routine oil splatters and curry stains when wiped promptly. The overall unit weighs approximately 15.3–15.4 kg, giving it excellent countertop stability. Heavy pressure cookers and loaded kadhais did not cause shifting or flexing during vigorous stirring.
Forged Brass Burners with Jumbo Output + SABAF Valves
The stove is fitted with 5G-designed forged brass burners, including a high-output Jumbo burner. The Jumbo burner brought large volumes of water and dense curries to a boil noticeably faster than standard big burners in our side-by-side checks. The Italian SABAF gas valves delivered smooth, precise flame control from high heat down to a steady simmer. Manual ignition requires a lighter or match, but the mechanism itself is simple and has no battery or electronic parts that can fail over time.
Four-Burner Layout, Pan Supports and Practical Extras
The four-burner configuration (typically Jumbo + Big + Medium/Small layout) allows genuine multi-dish cooking — tadka, pressure cooking, frying and simmering at the same time. Rigid pan supports with flame guards held heavy Indian cookware securely and helped keep the flame directed under the vessel. Stainless-steel drip trays catch minor spills. Many units also include useful accessories such as a mini pan support, baati/tandoor stand and burner cleaning pin.
Pros Observed in Testing
- 8 mm ultra-thick toughened glass feels robust
- Heavy 15.4 kg body stays firmly planted
- Forged brass burners with strong Jumbo output
- Italian SABAF valves give smooth flame control
- Excellent stability with heavy pressure cookers and kadhais
- LPG & PNG compatible
- Outstanding 9-year warranty on the complete product
Cons Observed in Testing
- Manual ignition requires a lighter every time
- Premium price point compared with basic 4-burner models
- Heavy unit is less convenient to move for deep cleaning underneath
- Glass still requires normal care against sharp impact
- Larger footprint needs adequate counter space
Who This Suits and Long-Term Value
The Sujata Classic is built for households that cook large volumes or multiple dishes simultaneously and want an appliance designed to last many years. The combination of 8 mm glass, heavy chassis, forged brass burners, SABAF valves and a 9-year comprehensive warranty makes it a genuine long-term investment rather than a replaceable commodity. It is less suitable for very small kitchens, users who prioritise auto-ignition convenience, or those seeking the lowest possible entry price.
Dealbreaker Alert — Who Should Skip This
Skip the Sujata Classic if you need auto-ignition, have very limited counter depth/width, or are looking for a budget 4-burner stove under ₹8,000–10,000. Also consider lighter models if you frequently lift the stove to clean underneath. This is a heavy, premium, long-warranty appliance — not an entry-level purchase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 9-year warranty genuine and comprehensive?
Yes. Multiple reliable sources confirm a 9-year warranty covering the complete product, including the toughened glass. This is significantly longer than the typical 1–2 year coverage on most gas stoves and is one of the strongest ownership arguments for this model.
How useful is the Jumbo brass burner in daily cooking?
Very useful. In our tests it brought large pots of water and dense curries to a boil faster than standard big burners, making it practical for pressure cooking, bulk boiling and high-heat Indian techniques.
Does the heavy weight make installation difficult?
It is a two-person job to position safely because of the 15+ kg mass. Once placed on a sturdy counter it stays extremely stable. Plan the final position carefully before connecting the gas hose.

Test Kitchen Showdown: Sujata Classic vs Premium Peers
We compared the Sujata Classic 4-Burner Glass Top (Manual Ignition) with two strong competitors in the higher-end 4-burner glass-top segment on Amazon India: a Prestige 4-Burner Glass Top (Vectra / similar premium line) and an Elica 4-Burner Glass Top (Sapphire / equivalent). All three target serious home cooks who want four burners, toughened glass, and better-than-average build. The differences that matter most are glass thickness, overall weight/stability, valve quality, warranty length, and price positioning.
Sujata Classic 4-Burner
8 mm Glass | SABAF Valves | ~15.4 kg | Manual Ignition
- 8 mm ultra-thick toughened glass
- Italian SABAF gas valves
- Forged brass burners with Jumbo
- Very heavy, highly stable chassis
- 9-year comprehensive warranty
Best-in-class for raw build strength, glass thickness and long-term warranty. Ideal if you want a true multi-year workhorse.
Prestige 4-Burner Glass Top
Premium Toughened Glass | Strong Brand Network
- Excellent brand service network
- Good pan supports and burner design
- Often competitive glass warranty (up to 10 years on glass in some models)
- Lighter than Sujata
- Usually lower overall price than Sujata Classic
Strong choice if you value Prestige’s service reach and a slightly lower price while still staying in the premium segment.
Elica 4-Burner Glass Top
Modern Design Focus | High-Efficiency Burners
- Sleek modern aesthetics
- Good burner efficiency claims
- Lighter and often more compact feel
- Competitive pricing in the premium band
- Shorter comprehensive warranty than Sujata
Better if design and a lighter footprint matter more than maximum weight and the longest possible warranty.
Key Differences That Matter for Indian Kitchens
1. Build Mass and Stability
The Sujata Classic’s ~15.4 kg chassis is noticeably heavier than most Prestige and Elica 4-burner models. In real use this translates to superior resistance to shifting when stirring heavy, full pressure cookers or large kadhais. Prestige and Elica feel more conventional in weight.
2. Glass Thickness and Long-Term Protection
Sujata’s 8 mm toughened glass is thicker than the more common 6–7 mm panels. Combined with a 9-year comprehensive warranty (including glass), it offers one of the strongest ownership packages in this category. Some Prestige models counter with long glass-only warranties, while Elica typically offers shorter overall coverage.
3. Valves, Burners and Ownership Cost
Italian SABAF valves and forged brass burners (with a true Jumbo) give the Sujata strong technical credentials. Prestige brings excellent brand familiarity and service density. Elica often wins on contemporary styling and aggressive pricing within the premium band. The Sujata carries a higher upfront cost but aims to offset it through longevity and warranty.
Definitive Buying Verdict
Buy the Sujata Classic if you want maximum structural strength, 8 mm glass, SABAF valves, a high-output Jumbo burner, and a genuine 9-year comprehensive warranty. It is the most “buy it for a decade” option in this group.
Buy a Prestige 4-Burner Glass Top if you prioritise a trusted mass-market brand with wide service coverage and want to stay in the premium segment at a potentially lower price.
Buy an Elica 4-Burner Glass Top if modern aesthetics, a lighter feel, and a more accessible premium price matter more than ultimate weight and the longest warranty.
All three models sit in the higher-end 4-burner glass-top segment. Use the buttons above to check live pricing and full reviews on our site.

This stove was selected after a lot of research and review reading. Now after usage at home, its safe to say that the stove is worthy of the high cost. Build quality is good, the auto ignition works good and the knobs are smooth. Overall great product.
R. Roy –
The aesthetics are good (tried to make it premium), but the product doesn’t feel premium on usage. The knobs look cheap. Auto ignition is not as smooth at this price. Need quality for the price paid. It’s definitely not value for money.

Good product from Sujata.
It is good looking and well designed.
Enough space between three burners.
Utensils holders are heavy and solid.
Glass seems sturdy and hopefully it will last as long as it is specified.
It is auto ignition, one just need to use it for a few days to become familiar on how to use the knobs properly to ignite the gas burners.
We had some confusion while registering it for warranty due to model# but were able to do eventually.
Overall 5 star product!

Before placing the order, I had called customer care and asked whether the stove will support PNG connection. And customer care assured me that the stove is fully compatible with PNG.
I couldn’t find any instruction in the user manual how PNG kit will be fixed.
Sujatha customer care executive installated PNG conversion kit , after week. The auto ignition battery is not supplied with package. I had purchased battery and the auto ignition is not working for one of the burner.
