I am useing this since 2 years, It work good. If you use good quality bowls you can cook fast on this stove. One issue I noticed is some times it shows E2 error with out any wrong. This error tourchers. I alos have phillips. When phillips working fine also this Prestige tourchers with E2 error. This is the issue I am facing from starting. I contacted customer service also. The siad e2 error is because of voltage issue. But phillips working good. Customer server not responded for this. And glass quality is not much good. Soon gets a burn mark on glass where the phillips glass is still looking a new one. Power consumption is very less, really good in power consumption wise.

WYSIWYG – is the word I would like to use for this induction cooktop. With the intent of reducing our carbon footprint in the most essential energy requirement, i.e. cooking, we have been gradually moving from LPG to electric (with electricity generated by Solar PV system) over the course of last 4 years and have already been using two induction cooktops (Philips HD4938, 2100W). As our solar system has an in-built wattmeter, which shows the amount of power being consumed at any instance, we had discovered that most appliances (viz. microwave oven and induction cooktops) have a standard working mode where they consume a certain amount of power (~1500W for microwave and 1000W for induction cooktops). When they are operated at lower power (as indicated on their user interface), their operation becomes intermittent – so as to reduce the “average” power over a period of time, while the peak power remains unchanged. However, when operated above the default setting of 1000W, the Philips induction cooktops always showed a flat power curve – regardless of the type or base diameter of the utensil. Upon increasing power beyond 1000W, only the LEDs would glow to indicate higher power levels, say, to 1800W or even 2100W, while the actual power consumption would remain at 1000W only, without adding an iota to the pace of cooking.
    ACTUAL AND FACTUAL:
Prestige cooktop on the other hand, exhibits an actual increase with increasing power levels. I have recorded the values of actual power consumption (for one type of broad-base flat bottom utensil) under various power settings including and beyond the default setting of 1100W, which are as under:
    Set Value / Actual Consumption
    1100W / 960W
    1400W / 1050W
    1700W / 1350W
    2000W / 1590W
As we have used this cooktop for just a few days, the above values have been recorded for just one type of utensil and and are presented for the sake of information that it does actually increase power when the setting is changed beyond the default level. The obvious result is much faster cooking at higher power settings – viz. making of yoghurt took around half the time than it used to take on the Philips cooktop!
    BUILD QUALITY: Elegant and rugged.
INTERFACE: The interface is reasonably decent, though we dearly miss the functionality offered by “manual” mode on Philips cooktop.
    FEATURES:
“Auto keep warm” is a useful feature.
Another small yet useful feature is that two of the four pods come fitted with anti-skid rubber pads – a feature, which has been mindlessly removed by Philips – their earlier version used to come with rubber pads under all four feet; but none in the newer version of same model, which can be dangerous on modern granite counters.

Great product.I loved every functionality of it, the touch panel, the induction panel. But one that bothered me is child lock feature, needs to pressed hard to start it and being so rough with the touch panel scares me.But apart from this minor glitch it works superb. There are so many good things about it, the different features for different types of cooking, the nice design and the amazing food cooking experience. To add to that i got it @ 2311 which was the best one can get for this product.

    Nice induction cooktop.
Taking one star off as I would have liked my induction cooktop to completely switch off once the timer is done. However this model switches over to auto mode when the timed cooking is complete.
We generally used to keep milk for boiling, set the watt to 500 and timer to 20 mins and leave for office. My older induction cooktop would heat the milk for predefined time and switch off. However this one, goes over to auto mode and continues to keep milk hot at 80 deg. Not something that I want. Overcame the problem by using a smart plug to cut off power to the device after set time.
