While there were many other cheaper pressure cookers available, I opted for Prestige simply because of its brand name.
In just 8 days on 3rd usage (normal operation) the cap on the weight ejected during a normal whistle and now it simply does not fit back in its place. The threads seem to have been stripped! Manual also does not mention anything about it.

I have noticed that in last 10 years quality of several consumer products has significantly degraded. There’s no point in invoking warranty and it might get rejected under wear and tear. I better buy another cooker from local market. I consider the cost I paid as charity to Prestige now.

We recently purchased an induction stove and our old pressure cooker wouldn’t work on it. We have been using the Prestige brand for years, so thought I would get this one in the size that I wanted.
I returned two cookers for the following reasons
1. Broken handle in the first one. They really need to pay attention to shipping and handling.
2. The aluminum warps after a few uses.
3. Price is at least 2-3 times the price if compared to purchasing in India, so I suggest if you are making a trip or have someone coming from there, get them to bring you one, or you bring one yourself.
Having said that, do not buy the aluminum version. There is a stainless steel version for induction. If you can find it on Amazon. Junk. Not a Presto.. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SEAL. Poor manufacturing, the lid compresses the seal very little allowing pressure to escape along the lid perimeter. Go buy a Presto pressure cooker.
